Blaming the Maharashtra government of ignoring the Supreme Courts' directives, former chief minister and Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday said that his party's
bus yatra will induce discussions among the intelligentsia of the country over the illegal construction of an irrigation project across the Godavari.
Talking to media persons before embarking on the yatra, Naidu said that the TDP will not be cowed down by the reports of an increase in police presence to block off the tour.
The TDP chief said that his party's stand over the Babli was purely to protect the interests of people of Andhra Pradesh. He also expressed dismay that no other political party, apart from the Lok Satta, had joined the tour.
Naidu also blamed UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi for not showing any interest in solving the issue.
