Telangana TDP working president A Revanth Reddy today urged Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to name the Shamshabad International Airport after ex-Andhra Pradesh CM N T Rama Rao in recognition of his "selfless services" to the Telugu people.
In a letter addressed to KCR, Reddy appreciated the Chief Minister for eulogizing NTR's services to the people at a function organized on the occasion of the launch of the 100th film of Nandamuri Balakrishna. KCR had also allayed concerns in that function that the name of NTR Ghat would be changed, swearing that he would never let it happen.
Reddy said that NTR had always worked for the welfare of the Telugu-speaking people. It was NTR who had scrapped the age-old Patwari system in the State and introduced Rs two per kg rice, besides constructing houses for the downtrodden and poor people, he said.
