TDP Threatens To Get Poor To Erect Huts In Miyapur
The party said that instead of building the houses in the government lands, the TRS was seeking railway lands as a ploy to hoodwink the homeless once again.
Alleging that the TRS government was cheating the people on the much-touted free double bedroom housing scheme, TDP spokesperson Satish Madiga on Wednesday demanded that the government fulfill its promise by constructing houses in the government lands available in Miyapur, Kukatpally, Ghasimiaguda and other places immediately.
Speaking to mediapersons at NTR Bhavan, Madiga took objection to MA & UD Minister K T Rama Rao seeking 45 acres of railway lands for the houses when government lands were available. He said that instead of building the houses in the government lands the government was seeking railway lands as a ploy to hoodwink the homeless poor once again.
Pointing out that the TRS had bagged 99 seats in the GHMC elections on the promise of providing free double bedroom houses to the slum-dwellers and other homeless people, the TDP leader charged that the government, instead of doing that, was trying to hand over the prime government lands available to big businessmen on a platter for obvious reasons.
The TDP leader also warned that if the government failed to build houses for the poor in the government lands, they would be constrained to call the poor to erect huts in the Miyapur lands.
