Telangana TDP president L Ramana today asserted that the TDP had every right to ask people of Telangana to vote for it, and that it had capacity to rule the state.
Addressing the Telangana TDP Mahanadu at the Exhibition grounds today, Ramana said that some party MLAs had left the party for their selfish ends, but the TDP would come to power in the coming elections in Telangana.
Taking a dig at Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, Ramana said that KCR was the first CM who did not bother to go to the Secretariat, and that if the TDP came to power, Pragathi Bhavan would be made a public hospital. He also alleged that only people of a particular background got benefits in the TRS regime.
Ramana also announced that the TDP was ready to contest the panchayat elections in the state.
A large number of party workers and leaders, including Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy and Peddi Reddy, attended the Mahanadu. However, senior leader Motkupalli Narasimhulu abstained. His absence gave credence to the rumour that he is likely to leave the TDP. He has not been active in party activities after he raised his voice against the party leadership some time ago. The Nalgonda leader had also not attended the mini-Manahadu meeting held in the district.
Another Telangana TDP leader and MLA R Krishnaiah also did not attend the event. His absence, too, raised many eyebrows in the party. There are reports that Krishnaiah is considering floating a BC front to woo the BC voters in the upcoming elections.
