Telugu Desam Party MLA Devineni Umamaheswara Rao on Tuesday appealed to Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar to extend the budget session of Assembly, which was scheduled to be concluded today. The TDP MLA has urged the Deputy Speaker to extend the session by 1 week in order to initiate discussions on people's problems.
Talking to mediapersons at Assembly media-point, Umamaheswara Rao said that the extension of the budget session of Assembly was very much the need of the hour, since the problems of the people were not discussed on the Floor.
The TDP MLA stated that it was unfortunate that the members spent most of the time by leveling charges and counter-charges against each other in the House.
Umamaheswara Rao challenged the Congress MLAs, who are considered loyalists of former Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, to a debate on the allegations against TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu's amassed property, at any time or place of their choice.
However, as a precursor to the discussion, the Jagan group MLAs must first get ready to discuss the allegations made against Jaganmohan Reddy, Umamaheswara Rao stated.
"I wonder how long the Odarpu Yatra will continue. It has been more than a year since it was launched," the TDP MLA added.
