Claiming that his party MLAs were suspended from the Assembly without any valid reason, Communist Party of India (CPI) MLA G Mallesh on Wednesday condemned the suspensions of Left party MLAs from the House by Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar.
Talking to media persons at the Assembly Media Point after being suspended from the House, Mallesh said that the removal of the MLAs from the House was against democratic norms.
Earlier, Manohar had ordered the suspension of 7 Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), 4 CPI and 1 Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs for disrupting the proceedings in the House for one day.
Condemning the move, Mallesh said that if the situation continued where the voice of the people's representatives were gagged by suspensions and removal from the House, the state will witness a revolution on the lines of the one in Egypt. He predicted that the government would collapse soon due to repressive measures it has adopted.
Another CPI MLA Sambhasiva Rao sought resignation of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for his failure in maintaining law and order in the state.
Speaking separately, BJP MLA Kishen Reddy stated that the Congress President Sonia Gandhi should break her silence and take a final decision on the introduction of the Telangana bill in the Parliament.
He also appealed to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to talk to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh over the prevailing situation in Telangana and impress on him to address the problem on priority.
Kishen Reddy also condemned the alleged 'double speak' of Telugu Desam Party President N Chandrababu Naidu over the Telangana state issue. Party MLA Lakshminarayan was also present.
