Stating that the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) was not considering rural players for selection, the Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) President Yendla Laxminarayana slammed it for "malpractice".
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Yendla fumed at the HCA's statement that it would not allow players playing for the TCA to play for it, and alleged that the HCA was selecting only those who could afford to bribe it.
Yendla accused the HCA of not giving talented cricketers from the rural areas an opportunity to play in Ranji matches and was, thus, responsible for suppressing their talent.
He also claimed that the HCA was involved in corruption deals amounting to a whopping Rs 140 crores, and asked HCA President G Vivek to step down saying he was "ineligibile" to run an association of that stature.
