Soundararajan Speaking Like A Politician: Talasani
Telangana Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today found fault with Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan making derogatory remarks against CM K Chandrashekar Rao.
Minister for Fisheries Talasani Srinivas Yadav today found fault with Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan making "derogatory" remarks against Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, and said that it was quite irrugular for a Governor to level "baseless" allegations against an elected government.
Soundararajan, who also holds additional charge as the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, had told the media in Chennai yesterday that certain Chief Ministers were becoming dictatorial, and also that it was a challenge to work with Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
Responding to the remarks, Yadav criticised Soundararajan for levelling such "unfounded allegations" against the Chief Minister, and said that the Telangana Governor was behaving like a political leader.
"It is not right for a Governor to level remarks against a Chief Minister by conducting press meets. We are not nominated persons, we have been elected by the people. Those who are holding nominated posts should know the limits of their power and act accordingly. They should not speak like politicians," Yadav said.
The minister alleged that the Telangana Governor was showing over-enthusiasm while speaking, and was crossing all limits despite the fact that she was obligated to follow certain protocol.
Stating that the government would respect the Constitution and that those who held constitutional posts should do the same, Yadav advised Soundararajan not to indulge in altercations with the State government, and expressed hope that she would hereon work within the limits that protocol allowed her to.
