"Purandeswari will shift to Narsapuram," Subbarami Reddy said, when asked about what would happen to the incumbent MP.

T Subbarami Reddy has again stirred the hornet's nest - on Wednesday, he announced that he would contest from Visakhapatnam for a Lok Sabha seat.
"I am very familiar with Visakhapatnam, and will be contesting from here," he said.
Union Minister D Purandeswari is the sitting MP from Viskahapatnam. However, there was some tension recently on protocol issues, with local leaders levelling allegations against her, following which she had to cancel one of her programs.
"Purandeswari will shift to Narsapuram," Subbarami Reddy said, when asked about what would happen to the incumbent MP.
Reddy had, earlier, contested for the Nellore Lok Sabha by-poll and lost badly. At a time when the Congress could not find anyone to fight against M Rajmohan Reddy of YSRCP, Subbirami Reddy stood for the Congress, knowing well that he was swimming against the tide. As a reward, he was then assured of the Visakhapatnam seat.
Neither Purandeshwari nor Subbirami Reddy hail from Visakhapatnam. Visakhapatnam, in fact, is known for being represented by outsiders.
Before Purandeswari, former chief minister N Janardhan Reddy was the MP. He was moved upstairs to accommodate Purandeswari, whose Bapatla constituency was allotted to SCs in the delimitation process. (INN)
