Telangana Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav today criticised BJP leader and former minister Etala Rajender for being "headstrong" and for his comments about Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
Talking to the media about the leader, Yadav said that the people of the Huzurabad constituency would teach him "a fitting lesson".
"Etala Rajender will face what senior Congress leader K Jana Reddy faced in the recently held Nagarjuna Sagar by-election - a resounding defeat," he claimed.
The minister then accused Rajender of being "headstrong" and flayed the latter for stating that Gellu Srinivas Yadav, the TRS candidate for the by-election, was "a slave" to the CM, and asserted that it was not correct to make such comments against a CM who was always working to implement schemes for the welfare of the public.
In a bid to justify the party's decision to pick Gellu Srinivas Yadav as the candidate, the minister pointed out that he had been chosen for his long services to the TRS.
"Srinivas will win the by-election despite Rajender's attempts to spread falsehoods about the TRS and our CM. Srinivas may be a small leader, but Rajender should remember that he too was not a well-known leader when he contested against Damodar Reddy. KCR has always believed in giving opportunities to student leaders like Balka Suman and G Kishore Babu and now Gellu Srinivas Yadav. We are confident that the people of Huzurabad will support him. They will surely reject the BJP leader for dumping them," he added.
