A staunch supporter of BJP leader and former minister Etala Rajender left the former shocked after he resigned from the BJP recently.
The Vice Chairman of the Krishna District Cooperative Central Bank, Pingali Ramesh, who has been a loyal aide to the former minister for years, announced that he was resigning from the saffron party as he was not being able to "adjust with its ideology".
Ramesh also announced that he would be joining the TRS as he was attracted to the party owing to its many welfare programs.
Meanwhile Rajender who is yet to comment on the matter, is busy wooing voters in Huzurabad ahead of the upcoming by-election in the constituency.
On Saturday, while addressing some meetings in various villages in Huzurabad, he stated that the responsibility of ensuring his victory in the by-election lay "on the shoulders of the people".
While outlining all that he had done for the region during his time in office, the leader then claimed that the state government was spending hundreds of crores of rupees in his constituency only after his resignation, suggesting that this money was being spent only to secure electoral gains.
The former minister toured the Buzunur, Sirisedu and Vantadupula villages of Illanthakunta mandal and held Racha Banda programs and interacted with the locals. During the programs, some villagers reportedly even joined the BJP in Rajender's presence.
