Addresing a press conference at the Congress Legislature Party office on Sunday, Jeevan Reddy informed that he had written an open letter to the Chief Minister demanding that he take the entire Opposition into confidence and make joint efforts to protect the interests of the farmers of Telangana.

He said that KCR should not allow his ego to dominate the interests of Telangana's farmers.
He said that joint efforts with the Opposition were required to overcome the ongoing crisis, as nearly 3-4 farmers were committing suicide every day.
Reddy also demanded payment of Rs 5 lakhs as ex-gratia to the families of each of the farmers who had committed suicide; Rs 10,000 per acre as input subsidy; and Rs 100 per quintal as compensation for the lost crops.
