Telangana Employees' Joint Action Committee chairman Swamy Goud was injured after he was attacked by some unknown persons on Tuesday morning.
He reportedly suffered internal injuries to his lungs and kidneys. Swamy Goud has alleged that he was beaten up by policemen in "mufti" (plainclothes).
The incident happened on Tuesday morning when he visited the RTA office at Khairatabad to hold a protest. However, he was taken into custody by the police, was shifted to the Banjara Hills police station.
According to Swamy Goud, he was beaten up on the way to the police station.
Later, he was admitted to Care Hospital.
The City Police has vehemently denied the allegation. However, it is yet to issue an official statement about the incident.
Meanwhile, TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao and Telangana Praja Front chairman Gaddar visited Care Hospital at Banjara Hills to meet Swamy Goud.
Later, talking to reporters, KCR demanded that DCP Stephen Ravindra be suspended immediately. He said that Telangana parties would approach the Human Rights Commission to seek action against the policemen who were involved or responsible for the attack. (INN)
