Mahabubabad MP Porika Naik Balram on Wednesday demanded the suspension of Bhadrachalam MLA K Satyavathi for violating the party diktat and participating in Jal Deeksha staged by former Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in New Delhi on Tuesday.
Talking to media persons after lodging a complaint in this regard to Pradesh Congress Committee President D Srinivas and Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Balram said that the MLA had brought disrepute to the party by participating in Jagan´s high-pitched muscle-flexing in the capital.
He added that the party image had been damaged badly in Khammam district due to Satyavati openly extending support to the former MP. He alleged that Jaganmohan Reddy had lured her with his ill-gotten money.
Demanding suspension of Satyavathi from the party, Naik lodged a complaint with the PCC chief at Gandhi Bhavan.
He later told media persons that the PCC chief had assured strong disciplinary action against Satyavati for her anti-party activities.
Naik also said that Srinivas had already sent a detailed report to the party high command about those who participated in Jagan´s Jal Deeksha.
The high command, after conducting an enquiry, would initiate action against all rebel MLAs, the MP said.
