The Supreme Court today held a hearing in the sensational "note for vote" case involving TPCC president and MP Revanth Reddy, but adjourned the hearing to August 28.
The lawyers for Revanth Reddy wrote a letter to the Supreme Court asking for a postponement of the hearing of the case due to some unavoidable reasons. However, the lawyers for the Telangana government objected to this. They told the SC that the investigation of the case should be taken up immediately as they had no prior information about the letter being sent. The government lawyers requested that in view of the seriousness of the case the trial should not be postponed.
However, a bench of Justice Sanjeev Khanna, Justice Bela and Justice M Trivedi differed with the arguments of the advocates for the State government, and said that the trial in the case would be held on August 28. The bench however advised Revanth Reddy's lawyers not to seek an adjournment once again.
