Supply 9 Hours' Power During Kharif: KCR
The Telangana CM also directed the electricity department to supply uninterrupted power to the domestic, business and industrial sectors.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today directed the officials of the electricity department to provide nine hours' power for agriculture in the Kharif season besides supplying uninterrupted power to the domestic, business and industrial sectors.
In a high-level review meeting of the power sector that he held, KCR also asked the officials to reach the target of producing 25,000 MW of power by 2018.
"Our priority is to see that Telangana becomes a power-surplus State by 2018," KCR said.
In addition to the existing 4,445 MW capacity, another 4,600 MW by the end of 2016 needed to be produced, and the officials needed to speed up the process, KCR said.
"The officials should also ensure nine hours' power supply to the farm sector during the Kharif season as promised," he added.
The department officials informed him about the progress of the power production and sources, and the efforts being made.
The officials said that the Bhupalapally unit of 600 MW would be inaugurated on January 5, and 1,200 MW at Jaipur (Singareni) and 800 MW of solar power would be available by April.
By the end of 2016, Telangana would get 2,000 MW of solar power, of the 4,600 MW target, they said.
