Subramanian Swamy Predicts Jagan's Victory
Known for attacking the Congress and its leaders on issues of corruption, it is interesting that he chooses to side with Jagan, who has been facing allegations of amassing illegal wealth.
Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy on Sunday predicted that the YSR Congress party would come to power in the state in 2014 elections.
Addressing a meeting in Vijayawada, Subramanian Swamy said that YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy would replace the Congress in the state after the next elections.
Further, he said that the YSRCP would maintain its distance from the Congress-led UPA at the Centre, and might not support its government at the Centre.
Although he did not predict that Jagan might sail with the BJP-led NDA, he said that "the NDA would have no problems with the YSRCP".
Subramanian Swamy's comments are likely to raise a fresh political controversy. Swamy is known for attacking the Congress and its leaders on issues of corruption and black money. It is interesting that he has chosen to side with Jagan, who has been facing allegations of amassing illegal wealth while his father the late Dr. Y S Rajasekhara Reddy was in power in the state.
