The III Metropolitan Sessions Judge, Nampally, on Saturday rejected the bail petition of engineering student Shravil, who is the main accused in a car accident on the Punjagutta flyover on July 1 that claimed the lives of three members of a family.
Shravil, a third-year engineering student of the Keshav Memorial Institute Of Technology, Hyderabad, is now cooling his heels as an undertrial at the Chanchalguda jail.
He has already unsuccessfully applied for bail several times earlier.
It may be mentioned here that on July 1, Shravil and his friends had consumed liquor in a pub (TGIF, since closed), and he was then driving a car in which they were all travelling, at a very high speed on the Punjagutta flyover, when it rammed into the divider and landed on a Santro on the road below, killing three persons.
In the accident, eight-year-old Ramya suffered critical injuries and breathed her last after nine days. Her uncle Rajesh died on the spot and her mother and grandfather were hospitalized. After some days, her grandfather, too, succumbed to his injuries.
