The Andhra Pradesh Nirudyogula Aikya Vedika (unemployed persons' platform) has chalked out a five-point agitation program, demanding that the state government fill up the two lakh vacancies in different departments and immediately release the notifications for Group I, Group II, JL, DL, Panchayati Secretaries and other posts.
Founder President of the Vedika L Govinda Rao and other office-bearers, speaking to the media today, said that it was decided to organize a hunger strike at the Indira Park on August 31, lay siege to NTR Bhavan on September 1, lay siege to the Chief Minister's camp office on September 2, conduct a begging programme at Secretariat on September 3, and lay siege to the Assembly on September 4.
Rao said that the objective of their program was to draw the attention of the state government to the plight of the unemployed youth and the need for the government to fulfill the promises made in TDP's 2014 election manifesto.
Their other demands include abolition of the contract and outsourcing systems of hiring, implementation of the promise of one job for each family, and unemployment allowance of Rs. 5,000 per month.
