Ponnam Urges Unemployed Youth To Ignore Opposition's Lies
The Telangana minister asked students to not waste their time on protests and instead focus on preparing for the exams for the upcoming recruitment drives.
Telangana Minister for Transport Ponnam Prabhakar today urged the unemployed youth of the State not to fall into the "trap of opposition leaders" over government job vacancies.
Speaking at a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan, Ponnam, along with Congress Campaign Committee Chairman Madhu Yashki Goud and Government Whip Adi Srinivas, said that students should not waste their time on protests and should instead focus on preparing for the exams for the upcoming recruitment drives.
"I also request the student union leaders to bring any issue to my notice if any students are genuinely facing any difficult situations," Ponnam said.
He added that the State government was taking the opinions of intellectuals on the job calendar, and that the calendar would be released soon.
The minister also lambasted Union Minister G Kishan Reddy for trying to "tarnish the image of Hyderabad", and said that the BJP leader was indulging in cheap tactics keeping in mind the upcoming GHMC elections.
"Kishan Reddy should tell the people how much funds he brought to Hyderabad in five years as a union minister. What did you do for the development of Hyderabad when the BJP was in power at the Centre for ten years? Did you bring any special funds? What was your contribution for the development of Telangana as a union minister?" Ponnam asked Reddy.
He said that the State government was committed to developing Hyderabad in all sectors, and exuded confidence that Hyderabad would emerge as an international city in the days to come.
