The Praja Bhavan is ready for the meeting of the Chief Ministers of the two Telugu States.
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will meet at the Praja Bhavan at 6 PM in Hyderabad today, and discuss various bifurcation issues which have been pending for the last ten years.
All arrangements have been made for the high-profile meeting, and additional security has been provided to the location.
This is the first time that Revanth Reddy and Chandrababu Naidu are meeting each other after taking office as the Chief Ministers of their respective States. The meeting assumes significance as there have been no occasions in the past when the Chief Ministers of two States sat and discussed the bifurcation issues.
Many problems between the two States are likely to come up for discussion - the distribution of property between the two States, the Godavari and Krishna river waters sharing, and the other issues of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.
While the meeting between the Chief Ministers is a good sign, everyone is anxiously waiting to see what its outcome will be, and hoping that the meeting will pave the way for permanent solutions to the long pending issues.
