TS, AP Governments Reward Olympian Sindhu
The Olympic silver medalist will get Rs. 3 crores and land from the AP government, and Rs. 5 crores from the Telangana government.

The Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments today lavished money on badminton player P V Sindhu for winning a silver medal in the ongoing Rio Olympics.
A cabinet meeting of the Andhra Pradesh government announced rewards including Rs. 3 crores and a 1,000-square-yard plot in Amaravathi for Sindhu.
Besides that, Sindhu will be given any a Group 1 post of her choice in the State government.
The AP government also announced a reward of Rs. 50 lakhs to her coach Pullela Gopichand, who has trained several other athletes who represented India at the Olympics in the past, too, and of Rs. 50 lakhs to wrestler Sakshi Malik who won a bronze medal at the Rio Olympics.
The Telangana government, too, announced a cash reward for Sindhu, of Rs. 5 crores.
Apart from the two Telugu states, the Madhya Pradesh government announced Rs. 50 lakhs for the medalist.
Senior actor and YSR Congress Party leader Vijaychandar announced that he would gift a 2-acre plot to the sportswoman. YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy would hand over the land documents to Sindhu soon, he said.
"The land is located at Karakapatla near Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's farmhouse. We will register the land in her name, and our party president will hand over to her the documents," said Vijaychandar.
The AAP government in Delhi, too, has announced a Rs. 2-crore reward for Sindhu. The Indian Badminton Federation announced an additional Rs. 50 lakhs to her and Rs. 10 lakhs to Gopichand.
