Telangana Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today lashed out at the Opposition parties for "relentlessly" taking on Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao over manner in which the new districts are being formed.
Addressing the media at the Secretariat on Monday, Srinivas Yadav alleged that the Congress and TDP leaders were playing politics over the issue and were targeting the government to win over the vote bank.
He said that the brouhaha surrounding the new districts was unnecessary.
"The Congress is making derogatory remarks against the Chief Minister. This is unacceptable," he said. The Opposition lacked understanding on the mechanism employed to divide districts, he added.
He also asked the Opposition why it had not inquired about the mechanism during the all-Party meeting.
Yadav claimed that the reorganization of the districts would prove handy as it would provide speedy and transparent delivery of development schemes, and warned that the government would not hesitate to initiate stern action against the Opposition leaders if they failed to "mend their ways".
