Justice B N Srikrishna on Friday expressed satisfaction over the representations that the panel he is chairing received from various sections of people across the state on the issue of bifurcation of the state.
Talking to media persons after receiving submissions from Seemandhra leaders at Jubilee Hall, Justice Srikrishna said the committee has completed 99% of its work.
He said the panel had toured 7 districts in coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions to elicit people's views on the controversial issue.
He said that the committee members will take up a padayatra, if necessary, to elicit the views of all sections. However, he made it clear the panel's padayatra will not be on the lines of those of political leaders.
The committee will also travel by train from Shadnagar to Kadapa to know of the sentiments of people in the region.
The panel will meet MPs in the first or the second week of September, after the conclusion of the Parliament's monsoon session, and will also meet ex-servicemen.
He said the committee would complete its work by mid-September and submit its report to the government before the year-end deadline, at any cost.
Reacting on the by-election results and students ending their lives for the cause of Telangana, Justice Srikrishna said the panel would take all issues into account before submitting its report to the government.
The committee will visit the Telangana region once more to take the views of various interested parties of the region, he added.
Commission member-secretary V K Duggal was also present.
