V K Duggal, member-secretary of the Telangana panel, who arrived in Hyderabad on Tuesday evening, said there would be no extension on the deadline given to the committee. He said the panel would wrap up its consultations with key stakeholders by July this year.
Duggal said the committee had received 50 memoranda so far ever since a public notice was issues. He said the panel will visit all three regions of Andhra Pradesh.
He said the panel is unbiased and open-minded, and that its decision will be fact-based rather than emotive. He also said there is no change in the terms of reference of the committee.
The Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) had given a call to boycott the Sri Krishna Committee because its terms of reference were not acceptable to it, but Duggal said those who are boycotting the panel will come around once they understand the intent of the panel.
