Telangana IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu today inaugurated the Global Capability Centre (GCC) of DarkMatter India Technologies (a subsidiary of the Perseus Group under Constellation Software Inc) in Hyderabad.
The GCC, which currently employs 750 people and aims to triple its workforce to 2,250 by 2027, is expected to drive advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, cloud computing and cybersecurity, and has been designed to serve over 1,000 companies across the US, Canada, Africa and Australia.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister hailed the launch as a "watershed moment" for the State.
"Hyderabad is no longer just the City of Pearls or a pharma hub - it is now India's answer to Silicon Valley in the BFSI sector. With five of the world's top BFSI GCCs, including Wells Fargo, Goldman Sachs and now DarkMatter, we are scripting a new narrative of tech-led growth," he said.
Babu also said that Telangana's GCC ecosystem, already generating $10 billion in revenue from 355 centres, was poised for significant expansion.
He claimed that the State's BFSI consortium and the Young India Skills University were training 1 lakh professionals annually, ensuring a steady pipeline of skilled talent for companies like DarkMatter. "With 5 lakh skilled BFSI professionals and counting, Hyderabad offers the perfect blend of innovation and expertise," he said.
Perseus Group President Scott Smith praised Hyderabad's thriving tech ecosystem. He added, "This GCC isn't just an investment - it's a commitment to co-creating the future of AI-powered vertical software. The centre will focus on mortgage tech innovation, leveraging AI to streamline loan origination processes for global clients."
