HCLTech, a leading global technology company, is expanding its global delivery footprint in Hyderabad with the launch of a new tech centre.
The announcement followed a meeting between Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, IT & Industries Minister Sridhar Babu and HCLTech's global CEO and Managing Director C Vijayakumar on the inaugural day (January 20) of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos.
The new centre will provide cutting-edge cloud, AI and digital transformation solutions to global clients across industries such as hi-tech, life sciences and financial services.
The 320,000 sq ft facility in HITEC City will house 5,000 IT employees.
It has also received Gold Certification from the Indian Green Building Council.
"Hyderabad, with its world-class infrastructure and high-quality talent pool, has been a key location in HCLTech's global network. The new centre will bring cutting-edge capabilities to our global client base and contribute to the local technology ecosystem," said Vijayakumar.
He invited the Chief Minister and the IT Minister to formally inaugurate the centre next month.
Revanth Reddy welcomed HCLTech's expansion plans, and said, "The new tech centre reaffirms Hyderabad's continued appeal for global IT companies, and further consolidates its position as a leading IT hub in the world."
Sridhar Babu said that the State government was committed to strengthening the tech and innovation ecosystem in Hyderabad, and was also focusing increasingly on expanding it to tier-2 and tier-3 cities to promote jobs for local youth. He assured Vijayakumar of full support and encouraged him to actively consider opening an IT centre in a second city in Telangana.
HCLTech has been in Hyderabad since 2007. With the addition of the new centre, its footprint will span five centres across the city with a combined capacity of 8,500 seats.
