Sonia Gandhi, Amit Shah Public Meetings In Hyderabad On Sep 17

Telangana politics will be the focal point of discussions at the national level this year on September 17, the "Hyderabad Liberation Day".

The Congress and the BJP are all set to hold competitive public meetings on that day. While the Congress is planning to hold its meeting at Tukkuguda, the BJP is attempting to hold a meeting at the Parade Grounds in Secunderabad.

Former Congress president Sonia Gandhi will attend the Tukkuguda meeting, the party's State leaders said. With the CWC meetings going to be held in the city on September 16 and 17, the top Congress national leaders including Gandhi will anyway be in the city on the 17th. The Telangana PCC is taking this meeting quite seriously, and is aiming to get 10 lakh people to attend the party's public meeting.

BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah is to attend the Liberation Day celebrations at the Parade Grounds like he did last year.

Both parties are expected to target the BRS and KCR in their meetings.
