Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today directed officials to consider vibrant and unique designs for the proposed T-Square, aiming to make it an iconic structure and a happening destination for Hyderabad.
He also asked officials to ensure that development work on T-Square commenced by the end of November.
The government has undertaken the T-Square project as an ambitious initiative to create a new public destination at a high-profile location in the heart of Hyderabad's IT hub, Raidurg. The aim is to establish a digital canvas for the city, keeping in mind the demands of the social media era. The plan includes developing a world-class digital display fa?ade with large electronic screens and vibrant digital advertisements, creating a lively and immersive experience.
The Chief Minister held a review meeting along with IT & Industries Minister Sridhar Babu at the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC). Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary (IT&C) Sanjay Kumar, OSD to CM Vemula Srinivasulu, TGIIC MD K Shashanka, Deputy Secretary (IT&C) Bhavesh Mishra, T-Fiber MD Venu Prasad and other officials attended the meeting.
The CM instructed that T-Square be designed to be a confluence of entertainment, tourism, food and business, attracting visitors round-the-clock.
While the new public arena will host entertainment, cultural events and commercial activities, the Chief Minister recommended that it also be corporate-friendly with provisions made to accommodate major global players such as Apple.
He also emphasized that the design must address parking and ensure smooth vehicular movement.
He also discussed plans to establish an AI Innovation Hub in the city, integrating existing AI initiatives, startups and Centres of Excellence, while fostering collaboration with global companies, research institutes and international AI hubs.
Sridhar Babu spoke about the need to create a fund of funds to advance the State's AI vision and support startups, adopting an innovation-driven strategy to fuel growth in the age of artificial intelligence.
Since 2024, Telangana has launched several AI initiatives to position the State as a global AI destination. These include the Global AI Summit in September 2024, the AI City project, the Telangana AI Rising Grand Challenge, and an AI Catalyst program for State officials. The Telangana Data Exchange (TGDeX), India's first State-led digital public infrastructure, was also launched. Now skilling remains a key focus, with efforts underway to establish a dedicated AI university to provide AI training for students and the workforce.
