Former Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, an ex-IAS officer, has been appointed as Chief Advisor to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
The State government on Tuesday issued a GO in this regard, appointing Kumar to that position for a period of three years.
As Chief Advisor, Kumar will have the rank of a Cabinet Minister.
The 1989 batch bureaucrat had worked as the Chief Secretary of Telangana from December 2019 to January 2023. He was forced to step down from the post after the Telangana High Court issued an order sending him to Andhra Pradesh.
Though Kumar reported for duty in Andhra Pradesh after being relieved from here, he was not given any posting there, and applied for VRS later.
