The Department of Personnel and Training asking the Telangana Chief Secretary to submit his joining report to the Andhra Pradesh government by January 12.
With the High Court dismissing an order of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) authorising the continuing of Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar in the Telangana cadre, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday issued his relieving order in this regard, asking him to submit his joining report to the Andhra Pradesh government by January 12.
With Somesh Kumar being relieved from service, it has become imperative now for the Telangana government to appoint a new Chief Secretary for the State.
According to sources, the names of two senior IAS officers - Principal Secretary of Municipal Administration and Information Commissioner Arvind Kumar, and Principal Finance Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao - are doing the rounds. Both officers belong to the 1991 batch.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is likely to take a decision in the next 24 hours on a new Chief Secretary.
