Seven Die In Road Accidents In Anantapur

As many as seven persons died in two separate road accidents in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh.

As many as seven persons died in two separate road accidents in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh.

The first accident took place on NH-44 at Pamidi of the district. An unidentified vehicle hit an auto rickshaw near the Tehsildar office on the NH, and five women passengers of the auto rickshaw died on the spot.

The accident has also left 8 others injured.

The victims have been identified as Subbamma, Shankaramma, Nagaveni, Savitri and Choudamma, and were all going to take part in cotton crop-cutting works at Kottalapally of Peddagaduguru mandal of the district.

They all belonged to Koppalagonda village of Garladinne mandal of the district.

The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

In the second incident, a speeding car hit pedestrians at Midutur of Peddagadugur mandal of the district.

Two pedestrians were killed on the spot in the incident. They have been identified as Yakub and Narayana.
