AP MLC Sheikh Sabji Killed In Road Accident

The Teachers' constituency MLC was today killed in a fatal road accident at Cherukuvada in Undi mandal of West Godavari district.

Sheikh Sabji, a Teachers' constituency MLC from the Godavari districts, was today killed in a fatal road accident at Cherukuvada in Undi mandal of West Godavari district.

Sabji, who was travelling in a car, died on the spot after his car collided head-on with another.

Sabji was on his way to Bhimavaram from Eluru to support a dharna by Anganwadi workers. The accident occurred at Cherukuvada in the middle of the road.

Sabji's driver, gunman and PA, who were grievously injured in the accident, were taken to the Bhimavaram government hospital in a 108 vehicle.

Sabji won in March 2021 as a teachers' constituency MLC with the support of the PDF. He contested against the supporters of the two major parties on Andhra Pradesh and won by a majority of 1,534 votes. Working as a teacher, he rose to the position of State president in the UTF.

District Collector Prasanthi and SP Ravi Prakash paid tributes to Sabji at the Bhimavaram government hospital.

TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu expressed his condolences on X (Twitter) saying that the death of Sabji was extremely tragic.
