Serial Burglars Hit Malkajgiri
Police suspect that a gang comprising of around 10 people was involved in the crime, and that it is the same gang that is responsible for several cases of serial burglary that have taken place in the city over the past few days.
6 houses in Yadav Nagar of Malkajgiri were burgled in the wee hours of Monday morning. Jewllery and other valuables were found to have been missing. The locks of all 6 houses were completely broken, all cupboards and almirahs were left open, and gold jewellery and other valuables were found to have been stolen. A pet dog was found dead in one of the houses. All 6 houses were in the same vicinity, and the owners of all of them are out of town.
Police suspect that a gang comprising of around 10 people was involved in the crime, and that it is the same gang that is responsible for several cases of serial burglary that have taken place in the city over the past few days, including a similar case in Hayathnagar 3 days back in which an old woman had also been killed.
The suspicion stems from the fact that all these crimes follow the same pattern. They were all committed early in the morning at around 3-4am. It is always 5 or 6 houses at a time, all in the same vicinity. The burglars ensured that the owners of of all the houses were out of town before striking. The locks were destroyed in the same manner. And anyone who came in the way of these burglars were brutally murdered.
The police and the clues team are down at the site, and say that the gang might be from Maharashtra.
