Septuagenarian Held For Eve-Teasing

The Kushaiguda SHE Team booked a petty case against Vinod Dewan, 76, of Sainikpuri and arrested him on the charge of pestering a 24-year-old woman to accompany him for a ride on his bike.

The complainant, a 24-year-old MBA student, went to Saibaba temple at Kushaiguda along with her grandfather on May 18. There her grandfather suddenly fell sick. Meanwhile, another old man of 76 years, who was also present in the temple, volunteered to help and dropped her grandfather at her house on his bike.

Later, the "good samaritan" took her phone number talking nicely and asked her to come with him for a long drive. The woman was surprised and rejected his plea politely. But the old man pressurised her to come along with him. Irritated at his behaviour, the girl said she would come after informing her father. But the 76-year-old man threatened her not to reveal the issue to her father and forced her to come with him.

The lady stopped responding and avoided him, but the man started calling her on phone continuously. The exasperated girl then approached the Rachakonda SHE Team through their Whatsapp no. 9490617111. The Kushaiguda SHE team, led by Mallesh Yadav, ASI, plunged into action and identified the accused.

The girl thanked the Rachakonda SHE Team and sent a thank you message to SHE Team. "You helped me out from the problem; your team did a great job. Thanking you," she wrote.
