State minister T G Venkatesh said that "the situation" is not conducive for a separate Telangana.
"If Telangana were to be given, the Congress would have called its leaders and given the nod," he said.
The question of Telangana does not arise till 2014, he said. He added that if such a thing were indeed to happen, the TRS would be merged into the Congress, and the decision would be announced.
Ever since the all-party meeting, separatists and integrationists have increased their pitch, and are drumming up support according to their affiliations.
While integrationists like Lagadapati Rajagopal and Kavuri Sambasiva Rao, within the Congress, have been openly saying that the state will remain united, Telangana Congress leaders are planning to mount pressure on the High Command for a "favourable decision". (INN)
