Former minister P Balaraju condemned his former colleagues for criticising the Congress after joining other parties.
Referring to T G Venkatesh, Erasu Pratap and Ganta Srinivas Rao who have recently joined the TDP, he said that many leaders had enjoyed the power that came with a Congress membership for the last one decade.
However, when the Congress party had slipped into a crisis due to the bifurcation issue, they switched loyalties, and have started targeting the same party which had given them recognition.
He questioned as to why those leaders had not brought any development in their areas although they had enjoyed the cabinet berths. Balaraju said that such leaders were targeting the Congress party only to cover up their failures and mistakes.
Balaraju expressed regret that former Congress leaders, who had praised Sonia Gandhi throughout their lives, are now criticising the AICC President, for small political gains.
He said that the Central Government has already announced special packages for the Seemandhra region, and that the Congress party would ensure their proper, effective and speedy implementation. (INN)
