5 railway officials, including the station master of Jedcharla railway station, were suspended in connection with derailment of Guntur-bound Secunderabad-Guntur passenger on Thursday.
According to sources, the Secunderabad-Guntur passenger was derailed while approaching the Jedcharla station at 6am. However no casualty was reported.
Meanwhile, the railway officials constituted a high-level team to probe the incident. The officials suspended them as they failed to discharge their duties properly. The suspended officials include the Jedcharla station master, 2 train drivers, and a railway guard.
The train services were disrupted for a few hours on the Secunderabad-Kurnool section. However, rescue officials restored the track.
