Medical Education minister Kondru Murli, on Tuesday, said that the cabinet sub-committee on the SC/ST sub-plan would submit its report to the state government on August 20.
The minister made this announcement while briefing the media about the decisions taken by the sub-committee during its meeting held under the chairmanship of deputy chief minister Damodar Raja Narsimha at the state Secretariat.
He said that the report would be submitted to chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy.
On the same day, a special meeting of MLAs would also be convened, to take stock of the funds sanctioned for the welfare of Scheduled Castes in the state, he said.
Murali said that the government would place the cabinet sub-committee's report before the Legislative Assembly, and that it would be converted into legislation later.
"Once the SC-ST sub-plan gets the required legislations, no one would be able to divert any funds meant for their welfare. Therefore, the government would be able to spend its money with focused attention," he said. (INN)
