The Telangana TDP today reiterated that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao lead an all-Party delegation to the Prime Minister urging the latter to present the SC Categorization Bill in Parliament for making the necessary amendments to Act 341 of the Constitution to sub-categorize the Scheduled Castes into four categories.
The TDP floor leader in the Telangana Assembly Errabelli Dayakar Rao, in a letter addressed to the Chief Minister, stated that the latter represent the matter personally and request an early action to present the SC categorization bill making the necessary amendments as recommended by the Justice Usha Mehra Committee, to address the long-pending justified demands of the Madiga and other communities who have been lagging behind in receiving the benefits extended to them.
Errabelli said that after the formation of Telangana, the Legislative Assembly had unanimously passed a resolution recommending the sub-categorization of the Schedule Castes as suggested by the Commission.
On Saturday, Telangana TDP working president A Revanth Reddy had also urged KCR to take an all-Party delegation to Delhi on the issue.
