Sai Baba Health: Plea Filed For Info
A devotee of Satya Sai Baba of Puttaparthi has appealed to the State Human Rights Commission to direct the government to give a clear picture on Baba's health.
After 18 days of uncertainty shrouding the health condition of Satya Sai Baba, a devotee of the spiritual guru has appealed to the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) to direct the state government and the Sri Satya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences (SSSIHMS) to give a clear picture on Baba's health.
Dalit Jana Sabha President Gadda Srinivas filed a petition before the SHRC on Friday, and appealed to the Commission to direct the state government to release a comprehensive report on the health condition of Satya Sai Baba, who has been undergoing treatment at the SSSIHMS in Puttaparthi.
Srinivas alleged that the members of the Satya Sai Trust and the doctors at the SSSIHMS have conspired to hide the correct details of Satya Sai Baba's health while they fight for gaining control of the Trust.
He also alleged that they have violated the human rights of Baba's devotees by keeping them in the dark about his health.
Srinivas further pleaded with the SHRC to direct the doctors to provide visuals of Satya Sai Baba instead of releasing similar medical bulletins everyday, so that the devotees can be assured of his well-being.
He urged the SHRC to order severe action against the Trust members and the SSSIHMS doctors for not revealing the actual health condition of Satya Sai Baba to the public. In addition, the petitioner also appealed to the commission to permit media persons to provide a true picture on Baba's health.
Meanwhile, an advocate from the Anantapur district, Bhaskar Reddy, has filed a petition in the Penukonda Court, appealing it to direct the Satya Sai Trust to make public the details of the property under the Trust's control. The advocate has also requested the SSSIHMS to provide the true picture on the health of Satya Sai Baba.
The court will hear the petition on April 16th. (INN)
