Anantapur Joint Collector Anitha Ramachandran, on Saturday, supervised a search of the Yajurveda Mandiram at Puttaparthi, the late Sathya Sai Baba's abode at Prashanti Nilayam.
What tumbled out was mind-blowing wealth that was not revealed (to the public, at least) when valuables in the highly-guarded Yajurveda Mandir were counted
last month.
Valuables worth tens of lakhs of rupees have been discovered in the latest search, the first to be conducted officially by the government at the Prashanti Nilayam premises.
This includes 116 kilos of silver worth Rs. 58 lakh, 905 grams of gold worth Rs. 16 lakh, and a diamond ring worth Rs. 3.5 lakh.
Sathya Sai Baba's private chambers were also found to be housing expensive silk clothes, watches and pens.
