Sania Mirza Says KCR Responsible For US Open Win

US Open mixed doubles champion Sania Mirza was accorded a warm welcome on her arrival at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad on Sunday.

The tennis star was received by government officials who presented her a flower bouquet sent by the Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for winning the mixed doubles title at the Grand Slam tournament.

As the brand ambassador of Telangana, Sania Mirza had brought laurels for the State by winning the US Open, a press release by the Chief Minister's Office said.

Speaking on the occasion, Mirza gave credit for her victory to the Chief Minister, and said that it was due to his encouragement and support that she was able to participate in the tournament and win the title.

She dedicated her victory to the country, and especially to the people of Telangana. (INN)
