Two Telugu Desam Party members were suspended from the Rajya Sabha for a day, for disrupting the proceedings of the House on Tuesday.
Deputy chairman P J Kurien took action against TDP MPs CM Ramesh and Y S Chowdhary for the second consecutive day, after they declined to resume their seats and continued their protest by shouting slogans against the division of Andhra Pradesh.
"I will again have to take action against you. Don't make me do the unpleasant job," Kurien said, after the TDP MPs started their protest immediately after the beginning of Zero Hour. He requested the TDP MPs to allow the House to function smoothly.
However, the TDP members did not respond to Kurien's appeals, and this consequently led to their suspension from the House for a day.
