Two TDP MPs were suspended from the Rajya Sabha for a day, for disrupting the proceedings of the House over the Telangana issue.
Deputy chairman P J Kurien suspended C M Ramesh and Y S Chowdary from the House under Rule 255, after the MPs rushed into the well holding placards in protest against the proposed bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. The MPs were demanding that the government make a statement on the issue.
After Having failed to convince them to return to their seats to facilitate smooth functioning of the House, the deputy chairman announced their suspension for a day. The House was then adjourned for half-an-hour. (INN)
