Telugu Desam Party MPs, Y S Chaudhary and C M Ramesh, were suspended for a day on Monday from the Rajya Sabha, for stalling the proceedings of the House.
The TDP MPs had protested against the proposed bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh to carve out a separate Telangana state. The MPs began their protest by rushing over to the podium and shouting slogans against the Centre as soon as the Zero Hour began.
They turned a deaf ear to the appeals of Deputy Chairman P J Kurien, who asked them to resume their seats. "You are forcing me to take action against you," said Kurien, before announcing their suspension for a day under Rule 255.
Even last week, Ramesh and Chaudhary had been suspended from the House twice over the same issue. (INN)
