The Samaikhyandhra Political Joint Action Committee (SA-JAC) on Monday took a unanimous decision to stage rallies and human chains across the Seemandhra region for 5 days, to oppose the division of the state.
The decision was taken after an all-party meeting of various leaders from the districts and students' unions from 14 universities in the region.
The SA-JAC will stage rallies and human chains, in the Gandhian way, for 5 days, without resorting to violence.
The rallies will aim to highlight the importance of an integrated state.
The leaders have also decided to intensify their agitation to mount pressure on the Centre to take a decision by 1 November in favour of a united Andhra Pradesh.
The SA-JAC leaders alleged that Telangana leaders who had
desecrated statues on the Tank Bund during the Million March, have conspired to destroy the properties of Seemandhra people during the proposed Chalo Hyderabad program.
They appealed to the state government not to give permission the Chalo Hyderabad rally permission.
They also demanded that YSR Congress Party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy make his party's stand on the statehood issue clear.
Former minister Kodela Siva Prasad, Telugu Desam leaders P Pulla Rao, D Narendra Kumar, Kommalapati Sridhar, MLC Singam Basava Punnaiah, former Mayor of Guntur Rayapati Sai Mohana Krishna, members from the Samaikhyandhra Protection Committee and the Samaikyaandhra Students Joint Action Committee participated in the meeting.
