APSRTC chief A K Khan says that the corporation is on the verge of economic disaster, and that its very existence would be in question if the strike continues.
The Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Corporation has suffered a loss of over Rs. 200 crore due to the Samaikyandhra agitation in the coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions.
Talking to reporters, RTC managing director A K Khan said that the corporation has been suffering a loss of Rs. 13 crore per day due to the strike.
He said that the RTC is on the verge of economic disaster, and that its very existence would be in question if the strike continues for a few more days.
Meanwhile, Transport Minister and PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana, on Friday, held a meeting with RTC Samaikyandra JAC leaders, at his residence at Ministers' Quarters.
Sources said that the JAC leaders assured him that a decision would be taken on the ongoing strike after APNGOs representatives meet Central leaders in New Delhi from August 26 to 28. (INN)
