Seemandhra Protests: Vijayamma's Fast In Guntur From Monday

The YSR Congress President will undertake the indefinite fast demanding that the Centre should at least maintain the status quo if it cannot do justice to all regions.

YSR Congress Party's Honorary President Y S Vijayamma will begin her indefinite fast here on Monday in protest against the Centre's decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh.

Vijayamma was forced to shift the venue from Vijayawada to Guntur following enforcement of the election code of conduct in Krishna district in view of the upcoming Assembly by-polls.

It was for the same reason that the police did not permit TDP leader Devineni Umamaheshwsara Rao to undertake his fast in Vijayawada.

Following denial of permission by the police, the YSRCP leaders shifted the venue to Guntur.

Vijayamma will undertake the indefinite fast demanding that the Centre should at least maintain the status quo if it could not do justice to all regions. (INN)
