Congress MPs from the Seemandhra region ended their two-day hunger strike on Saturday afternoon.
The MPs - Lagadapati Rajagopal, G V Harsha Kumar and Sabbam Hari - undertook the hunger fast on Friday, demanding that the Centre stop its bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. The MPs, along with their supporters, had launched the fast at Dharna Chowk at Indira Park.
The hunger strike was called off about 6 hours earlier than scheduled. The MPs then tried to proceed towards the Telugu Talli statue near the Secretariat in a rally. However, police foiled the rally, and took the MPs into custody. (INN)
